Top Ten through to the final: FAI F3P World Championship for Indoor Aerobatic Model Aircraft

Crowds in Switzerland and tuning in via livestream from around the world have been able to witness masters at work in the nail-biting 2025 FAI F3P World Championship for Indoor Aerobatic Model Aircraft, where meticulous control of the aircraft means everything.

There are two parts to this challenging competition. The preliminary rounds for the class F3P-A were concluded on Tuesday 4 February, with the top 10 pilots in the world through to the final rounds on Friday. The F3P-AFM choreographed aerobatic flights preliminary rounds will take place Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th February. Juniors compete alongside the seniors, watching closely to pick up tips for their own flights.

the top ten F3P-A 

The preliminary rounds of the F3P-A category have been a close contest, with the best pilots achieving excellent results across their four flights.

France's Maxime Schmitt gained 1000 points for his impressive third flight, but it was not enough to topple reigning champion Gernot Bruckmann of Austria, whose top three flights out of four all reached the 1000 point mark.

The flights are being livestreamed on Youtube so that followers can see the competition in real time. The finals for the F3P-A will take place on Friday morning (7th February), when viewers can see these top ten pilots fully focus to gain a sought-after place on the podium.

Wednesday: F3P - AFM begins

On Wednesday 5 February, the first rounds of the AFM competition will begin in the afternoon, once pilots have had chance to run through their routines in the morning training session. 

The finals for the AFM will take place on Friday afternoon.
